Haveley Hey is a Rights Respecting School
RRSA Gold Reaccreditation date: 5th October 2018. We look forward to welcoming Martin Russell from Unicef into school to share our work on children's rights.
At Haveley Hey we believe that all children should grow up to understand and use their rights so they can be happy, safe and compassionate people in our society. We teach the children that all children have these rights, no matter what! We use the 'ABCDE of rights' to help to do this.
In 2015 we were successful in our accreditation to become a Level 2 Rights Respecting School. The assessors were really impressed with our whole school community's commitment to promoting and protecting children's rights. We are one of only a few hundred schools in the country to have this accreditation - along with our partner schools, The Willows and St Marys. As a forward thinking school we will continue to make changes to improve the education that we offer our children - but the golden thread that will always run through this will be our continued commitment to children's rights.
Now, 3 years on, we are ready to be reassessed for our Gold status Rights Respecting School Award. We are looking forward to October to welcome Martic Russell back to our school to show him all of the great work we have been doing to embed the Rights Respecting agenda through school.
