Diversity Ambassadors

Meet our Diversity Ambassadors!  They are a group of children who are passionate about equality and diversity in our school.  We started our Diversity Ambassadors in 2018 and they've already had a real impact in school.  Have a look at some of the things they've been up to.

Diversity Ambassadors 2021-22

Our new team have met up to learn about the protected characteristics and how we can make sure we are promoting tolerance and equality in school.  We have learned about what dignity is and that we are all inherantly born with it.

Watch our International Women's Day assesmbly that we made for the 8th March!  #BreakTheBias  Remember to support us at home to break the bias by making sure that you don't use steroetypical language relating to gender.

As February is LGBT+ awareness week, we have made an assembly to celebrate the LGBT+ community and raise awareness.  You can watch our assembly below to find out where the rainbow flag came from.

Black History Month Assembly (10/18)

The Ambassadors delivered an assembly all about influential Black people of history to kick off Black History Month!  They told the whole school about amazing people such as Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr, Katherine Johnson and Malala!

Hate Crime Awareness (2/18)

Their first task as a group was to attend a hate crime awareness session at Wythenshawe Wow Zone.  It was a great session where they learned the difference between hate crime and hate incidents.  They then created videos on Plotagon where they thought about how to react to different scenarios.

To celebrate and promote equality within gender the children wrote and performed a short video to tell the rest of the school about Iconic and influential women in history.  Watch our video on the Twitter link here-

Ramadan Assembly (5/18)

They wrote and performed their own assembly to tell people all about the Muslim celebration of Ramadan.  They performed confidently and were very informative.

Proud to bee Mancunian (07/18)

The Diversity Ambassadors helped to organise our 'Proud to bee Mancunian Day'.

It was a fantastic day, when we invited lots of visitors into school to work with the classes in the morning and then held our summer fair for the parents and carers in the afternoon.  Many of our families from different countries made food for a cultural food hall.
